"As the twig is bent, so grows the tree" Correcting the Spine
Symptoms of a misaligned spine include aches and pains, disc
problems, fatigue, dizziness, headaches, a weakened immune system, and
disease. A misaligned spine can occur from any injury - motor vehicle
accidents, a fall, bumping your head, or even an injury that took place years
before such as a difficult birth, falling off of your bike, or sports
injuries. Misalignments are often referred to as subluxations. When
subluxations occur, the spine is distorted and less stable, ultimately
causing nerve and disc damage. Prolonged
nerve damage of the nerves that exit the spine can affect many systems of the
body. All of these spinal nerves go from your brain to every part of your
body through the spinal cord. To see which specific parts of the body the
nerves from the spine go to, check out the spinal
misalignment chart. Our primary
goal is to remove these subluxations from your body using specific and gentle
chiropractic techniques, enabling the spinal nerves and joints to function
properly, thus allowing the natural healing process to begin. As a result, we
find that pain and related symptoms are eliminated and a greater ability to
enjoy life and reach optimal health is achieved. Upper Cervical Care (NUCCA)
Upper Cervical Chiropractic is a very specific approach that corrects
a misaligned spine utilizing physics and biomechanics. When a spine is
misaligned, the entire spine is out of alignment rather than single vertebrae
at various points along the spine. With Upper Cervical Care, a very subtle
and specific correction is made from the top bone of the spine, which then
allows the entire spine and pelvis to come into balance naturally. During the
correction, the patient does not experience any twisting or turning of the
head, neck, or back. Instead, only a slight pressure is felt below the tip of
the ear. With this correction, the entire body is returned to a balanced,
neutral position, which is where the body wants to be. Koren Specific Technique
(KST)
KST is very specific and gentle and goes beyond other
conventional chiropractic techniques, bringing fast relief from any
discomfort and restoring proper function of the nervous system. With KST,
there is no twisting, turning, “cracking” or “popping” of joints. Instead,
you receive gentle, specific corrections to your spine and structural system.
Most adjustments or corrections are done with you standing or sitting.
Moreover, adjustments can be made in what is referred to as the ‘position of
pain’. This is where the patient says “it only hurts when I do this… (swing a
golf club, sit in my car seat, bending over, play the clarinet)”. KST permits
us to quickly, easily and gently check and correct your body for subluxations
either in a neutral position or in the position that is causing the pain, often
bringing quick resolution and a reduction or elimination of pain. The
technique uses the ArthroStimTM instrument which is designed to
introduce a very gentle and specific force to the body, without the need for
high force cracking or popping of the spine. The KST technique is a fantastic
technique, especially for expectant moms, babies, and children. |
